Born and raised in DC, Kelly did not imagine herself ever becoming a farmer nor a teacher, but she has done just that. After graduating DePaul University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy concentrating in Environmental Policy and minors in International Politics and Geography, she applied to be the Assistant Farmer at Great Kids Farm. Her time at the Farm transformed her personally, spiritually, and has enabled her to better discern her call/vocation. After her time at Great Kids Farm, Kelly realized that her heart sang when students would make fascinating discoveries at the farm. Therefore, she decided to pursue more experience in the education field to ultimately determine that she would like to get her teaching certification. Kelly is currently working at the Green School of Baltimore through the Chesapeake Conservation. A Baltimore City Public Charter School focused on Experiential Environmental Education. She assists in the science/investigations classroom with grades 1-5. Additionally, she helps with garden education, maintenance and will be installing educational signage throughout their garden during her year at the school. Upon completion of her year at the Green School, Kelly hopes to pursue a Masters in Teaching and gain her certification to become a Science teacher.
